Direct to Film (DTF, also known as Digital Transfer Film or Direct Transfer Film ) describes a printing technique using inkjet printing and special inks that are printed inreverse on a specially coated film . A hot- melt adhesive is sprinkled onto the still wet paint and gelled with heat. The print is thento various substrates such as cotton, cotton blended fabrics, leather or solid materials using a thermal transfer press . By using white ink as an underbasethe finishing of colored textiles is possible.

DTF is an innovative new printing technology that is more affordable and accessible than DTG, screen printing, or laser white toner transfer.
DTF uses much less ink than DTG. With DTF, you can change into a 100% cotton shirt without pretreatment, saving a lot of money and time. DTF required a modified printer, special DTF ink, special DTF powder, and DTF transfer film. DTF is very comfortable because it can be washed strongly.
